SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern
The Prelims includes 100 questions paper for the 1-hour exam. There are three sections namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability. For each of these sections you will be given an equal amount of time to attempt the questions, that is 20 minutes for each section. But the number of questions warry for each. In English, you will have only 30 questions, whereas Quant and Reasoning both have 35 questions each.
Keep in mind this for SBI PO Prelims exam pattern?
Usually those who are good at English will only need 12-15 minutes to cover all 30 questions and remaining 5 minutes they could spend in Quant to cover at least 3-4 questions. But It will also save you from accidentally spending too much time in a given section. Because earlier student used to spend most of their time on a single section and that lead to disqualification as sectional cutoffs were not achieved.
How much you should attempt?
Let’s plan our preparation as per the new exam pattern. So we have 20 minutes for each section. A good attempt will have 22 questions from English, around 26 questions from Reasoning and 24 questions from the Quant section. This number may warry depending upon the difficulty of each section. Above count is for medium difficulty and that will be the case most of the time.
Now you are aware of the exam pattern. Cheers! Now you may join this batch to study with the top minds all over of India.

Syllabus - How to Attempt SBI PO Prelims:
First of all, you will be greeted with English Language and quickly attempt easy questions where more marks can be expected e.g. Error Spotting, Cloze Test, Fillers, Antonyms & Synonyms from Reading Comprehension. You will get only one attempt so make sure to cover as much of this section as possible within 20 minutes.
Next is Quantitative Aptitude, start getting into easy and scoring questions like Number Series, Simplification /Approximation, Quadratic Equations, Data Interpretation and skip the tougher word problems for later. Which is not much of a time gap so think wise and try to get most of these write and please don’t make silly mistakes.
In last you will encounter the Reasoning Ability section. There are relatively easier topics like Inequalities, Syllogism, Coding-decoding, Blood Relation, Direction & Distance, Order & Ranking that you can solve quickly.
In the remaining time, that is practically 12+ minutes left, you can attend those questions in which you are confident. One thing, make sure to at least read the question, sometimes an easy question might come from the least prepared topic.
